SiteMail Help

Welcome to SiteMail, your web-based e-mail program. Using SiteMail, you can access your e-mail, contacts and calendar from any Internet-connected computer (or mobile device) with only a browser.

If you use the older version of SiteMail (SiteMail Classic), then please refer to the help documentation here.

 

Quick Start Guide

SiteMail is very easy to use.  To get you started quickly, let's explore its basic operation.

Learn to use SiteMail  in 3 minutes:

Log in to SiteMail either through SiteControl's Email section, or directly at http://sitemail.gate.com.

Select either the conventional 2-pane view of e-mail messages, or switch to 3-pane view that displays a preview of the message content.  By default, you'll start in 2-pane mode.  To switch, click the 3-pane icon on the upper-right corner of the screen (under the Sign Out link).  

Please note the four main navigation menu tabs at the top: Email, Contacts, Calendar and Settings.

To compose and send a new message, click New, and then New Email.  Enter the recipient address and Subject line.  Type the message in the text box and click Send Email.

To check for new messages, click Get Mail.

To manually add new contacts to your SiteMail address book, click the Contacts navigation tab at the top.  Click New Contact, enter the person's information and click Save Contact.

To view and manage the calendar, click Calendar at the top.  To add an appointment/event, select the calendar (by default, you start with two calendars - Private and Business).  Next, either click New and enter its details, or select the appropriate day, double-click the start time, and then double-click it again to enter the details.

To add a task, click Calendar at the top.  Click Tasks, click the + sign at the bottom-left corner and enter the title of the task.  To switch back to the list of calendars, click Tasks again.
